Car: 1987 Camaro Z28 IROC-Z 5.0 V8 TPI Auto, with 125hp shot Nitrous
Engine: 5.0 TPI
Transmission: 700-R4 with Shift Kit.
Chip selection help. 305 TPI Auto.
Hi all,
I am from the UK, and over here there are hardly any American cars as they were never exported here. The only ones that are here have been privately imported. For example i have never ever seen another 3rd gen on the roads. Apart from at Shows.
Hence there is no support for Tuning parts etc.... I have to get everything i need from the USA on recomendations from people that have experiance with Camaros.
I have been looking at www.tpichips.com
Is this guy any good ??.
My 87 Z28 Camaro IROC-Z 5.0 TPI has the usual "FREE" mods to the inlet system. Plus a TPIS Airfoil.
As my car is a 87 305 TPI Auto, it has the Peanut Cam, hence only 190hp.
I would like a Chip that would give the engine a bit of improvment and be mapped to work with UK GAS ( 98 OCTANE RON ).
Any Help or recomendations greatly appriciated.

We have the same issues with parts at the other side of the globe too ;-)
Honestly, with the minor mods you have, a chip is a waste of money. That 98RON fuel is about equivalent to what the US guys call 93 PON. There are different ways to measure octane.. See here http://www.btinternet.com/~madmole/R...RONMONPON.html
In Europe and Australia, they quote RON numbers.. It sounds better, but its the same junk. I make and test the stuff for a living.
