gen 7 error code???

gen 7 error code???

today i got an error code 51 from my accel dfi gen7...i looked up the code and it says "5volt reference out of range.5v reference exceeds 5.5v or dropsbelow 4.5v..mil set,all sensors to default value."but what the heck does this mean????what 5v reference???for the computer itself or what???does anyone have a clue what this means???any help would be appreciated..

The 5 volt reference is a precision supply used by your MAP, TPS and other sensors. Sometimes a bad sensor can excessively load the supply and cause to go out of range. The ECM sees this, and sets error code 51.

Check your connections to all external sensors. Try unplugging them one by one and powering the ECM down/up again to see if the error goes away. If you can't make the code go away when all the sensors are disconnected, it's likely that the unit will need to be sent in for repair.

it was kinda weird...the car just shut off and thats when it threw a code...then i was able to start it right up again..could it be just a freak thing????the unit is only like 6 months old...i will try what u suggested,unpluging the sensors one by one....thanks again..
