im thinking it should
At worst, I would think the ECM might set a code for a missing mixture control solenoid but everything else should work just fine. Obviously you need the HEI stuff plugged in...

yeah thats what i was thinking

well i got the HEI back in and the wires for the HEI and the sensors other than the )2 one back connected and left all the carb wires dead ended

and it wqont freakin fire up, but its so close to firing though, but just wont do it

hmmm

what a pain

does anyone know about the black wires i the ECM harness running from engine controls to the ECM, why theres several and all the same, but separate

whats the deal with that?

should i connect them all to chassis ground ?

hmmm

this sucks

its actually a 229 v-6 engine, but its the same damn thing as a 4.3 or 305 or 350, 90 degree engine, same design, identical

i cannot for the freaking life of me find a non CCC HEI for one of these damn v-6 engines

or i would jut swap one in and be done and not have to deal with all this crap

thanks

What do you mean non-CCC HEI? Do you mean mechanical and vacuum SA HEI? I don't see what the HEI has to do with CCC, except that perhaps no vehicles came from GM with a CCC carb and non-computer controlled SA.

CCC is computer command control
EST is electronic spark timing

the computer controls spark timing and carburetor function

the seven wire HEI's

you know what im talking about..

dont play stupid..

im about 2 freaking millimeters from smashing and hauling this car to peoria shredder, because i am sick and tired of trying to find a non computer HEI for it

its pissing me off

apparently GM did not make a non CCC/EST 3.8L engine,

or 200cid, or 4.3L

i guess they are all CCC/EST

i dont know what to do

i think the car is screwed, because i cannot find what i need for it

its too bad cuz it ran great and drove good and didnt use any oil or leak any and has good brakes and steering and everything,

i think i give up

hum

thanks
