ECM...Do I need it?

I have a 91 firebird with a 3.1L that I'm swaping out for a carb'd 350 with manual choke...Do I still need the ECM or can I completely eliminate it?

It depends upon what functionality you require. The ECM handles this:

fuel pump
fan
A/C
TCC
cruise control VSS signal
speedometer VSS signal

I'm doing the same thing except I'm going from TPI to carb. Torque converter lock up, how do I wire this up without the ecm? I've figured out the fuel pump already, but can that stay on all the time or once I get the motor running can I turn it off? I would like to know EVERYTHING there is to know about removing the ecm and wiring as I want everything I don't need gone. Please help, project starting soon.

Using stock intank pump and running either the Holley or Mallory 3-way regulator.

I need to know everything on removing wiring and the ecm as I'm throwing in a 355 carbed motor. PM or email me with all the steps in removing everything. I'm starting the project soon and don't want to **** anything up, lol! Thanks

PS, same goes for the trans wiring (if any), fuel pump, gauges, interior lights all that crap...
