Holy cow I need Help! Vats

Heres the deal. 92 z28 was running great. Started up every time. All the sudden sometimes it will not start and the security light pops up. Usually it flashes then disappears. Ive thought it was the starter before I figured out it was the security. Then I thought maybe the tumbler was wore out. I havent done anything yet because I cant pin point the problem. Did a flash test and got a code 46. That would be the vats. After so long do these vats security systens tend to just malfunction. What can be done to fix this killer problem. Ive seen bypassing and chips. Im running in circles and late to work! thanks

I think this is an awesome anti-theft system from the dealer, some will disagree but I would rather have problems with my vats then come out and see my car gone.Try this remove the key wipe it off.. go get a soda and take a break for 4 minutes..this is the important part..take a 4 minute break and try the key again.if the light still doesnt go out then you will either need a new key or the cylinder isnt picking up the pellet off your key..

9 out of 10 times the wires at the lock cyl. broke. you have to remove the steering wheel and turnsignal assembely from the colum to see it.

Well, [url=http://www.moates.net] does have a nice adapter that you can buy reasonably cheap to remove the vats security. Only problem is that you need the adapter to plug into your ecm, eeprom. Eprom burner and burning software. Doesn't take more than 2 minutes to change that constant.

Software burn1 can be found on that site. Hope this helps
