Hey guys. I have been reading up on custom prom burning, and am very interested in it. I plan on buying the equipment necesary to burn my own chips in the near future, and learn how to do it. For now however, I am wondering if someone can give me a hand and make one for me so my car gets running with the new motor in it so I have a point to work from. I know it said not to ask in the DIY prom section, so I figured this would be the place. If anyone can help me I will really appreciate it, because I would like to get the car running before winter. TPIS wants 500$ for a custom tune, and that is absolutely rediculous. Thanks guys and if this is in the wrong section, I appologize, but I didn't know where else to ask.

 

Have you tried it with the prom you have now? The stock one will be better than the TPIS one IMHO.

 

I was thinking about trying the stock one, but I actually got lucky and came accross someone local who is going to burn me one to start based on what is done to the engine. Thanks anyways though!

 

I hate to see someone throw away money on a mail order prom, and be worst off than the stock one. Glad you found someone locally, that will not be guessing your tune.

 

Someone recently contacted me about who I was having burn me my chip. They said they also needed one, but I lost thier e-mail address so I have to put the post on here. If you see this, and you were the one who e-mailed me, the guy who burns the chips said that he can't contact you, because it keeps giving him an "inbox too full" message. If you clear that up, he'll send you an e-mail.
