Injector drivers question? RBob!

Have been fighting diffrent A/F between Lh/Rh cylinders.....Maybe I have diff BPW between he Lh/rh?

Now I'm running RH inj on 1 driver and the LH inj on 1 driver ( I have a 749 ECM so I have 2 drivers...)

Would it be safe to hook up all injectors to both drivers? If I have variations between the sides it should then go to all 8 injector instead of just to one side....

Or must I Swap driver sides and check if RH goes leaner instead of LH side?

Rbob?

You can't run 8 P&H on one stock driver....
Not much diff in the work required to swap driver sides than to put them all on one. Probably more to put them all on one.
There is only one PW sent to the drivers.
Several posts on AFR diffs side to side in last 6 months.
It can be many things from intake design to air leaks.

Hi..

I'm not meaning putting all 8 on 1 driver, I mean put all 8 on both drivers at the same time, just put a jumper wire between them.

1,3,5,7 now goes to C10/C14
2,4,6,8 now goes to C11/C12

And I mean to test them like this
1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8 to C10/11/12/14

Checked so far
- plugs/wires
- Air leaks
- sensors
- Injectors

Did a cam swap and engine block swap this summer, still the same results with the new setup....

I really don't know if the '749 fires all of the injectors at once or alternates. So I can't say whether you can connect them all together.

One thing you may try is to place the injectors banked in firing order. Place cylinders 1, 4, 6 & 7 on one driver, then 8, 3, 5, & 2 on the other driver.

There is a long thread started by vernw on the Alternate Port board about split AFR's and what he found. IIRC it was mostly caused by exhaust leaks in the headers.

Swapped the drives and the results are the same.... So I guess its not the ECM.......

New sensors and then look for a leak........... the winter is long overher so I have the time to look...........
