Question about Injector Wiring

I had bought a 87 Trans Am that is Vin F so it was a TPI but it didnt have an engine or tranny so i swapped one out from a running 88 Trans Am and the engine harness. When it runs none of the driver side injectors fire but I noticed that the passenger has 12 volts before it hits the ECM but the driver side wire didnt. So i wired from my fuse box from the injector fuse for the drivers side and now the car runs perfect. I was wondering if it actually does just run straight from the fuse box to the connector but not the ecm connector one? when the car runs now i check for voltage on both sides and with one prong on one and the other one the other one it reads about .55 volts, is this correct? if not how would i got about wiring to get power or ground to the black wire for the injectors? Thank you

Typically there are 2 fuses for the injectors. One for a bank of 4, then another for the other bank of 4. INJ1, and INJ2, maybe one is blown or the wiring for the one bank is bad.

To fire the injectors the ECM will ground all 8 at the same time from the same driver. Although, usually from 2 separate pins on the ECM.
