Aftermarket Engine Management
Aftermarket Engine Management
So I just bought a Electromotive Engine Management system should be arriving shortly.. Now I have to take out my old ECM and trace the old wires? the motor is out, Do I just remove all of them from the old ECM to the motor and then put the new one in and just reroute the new wires to the new motor? What about all the guage wires? do they go to the old ecm and then to the instruments? Am I going to be having a big difficult time with this? I just need some insight..

Most gauges, except possibly the tach and speedo, are seperate. You will need to spend a lot of time with a multimeter, and decide whether you want to splice the new computer into the old harness or start again from scratch. If you start again from scratch, it might be better in the end, but it not the faster route. also, take all of the black wire loom out of the engine bay and try and seperater the ECM wiring from everything else.
