86 Lb9 ecm in an 89 work?

86 Lb9 ecm in an 89 work?

restoring my 89 5,0 tpi t/a i had a hard time finding a computer. so the one i found was an 86 tpi t/a. it works but the car isnt done.so it hasnt been really driven around yet. so i dont know if it works properlly. anybody know if there the same?

If you can use a chip out of the 89 im sure that the 86 ecm would work.

Assuming that there both the 165 ecm, which i believe it would be ( maf? right)


hopefully someone willl chime in with more knowledge
