Sorry,. A little long..


I've been going through the search and can't seem to find what I'm looking for.

I have a "hand written" ECM diagram for the 16136965 ECM (L05 Caprice).

The Caprice Manual I have seems to only list some of the pins / color codes and I want to make sure I have the correct info.

Can someone tell me where to find the following info:

1. Diagram of the ECM connectors / wire harness routing / color codes

2. This current diagram lists a power steering pressure connection and TCC lockup. I'm using a Manual Trans but I'm not using this in an F-body so I have no power steering. Will these throw a C.E.L. ? I'm not really worried about the light but I'm curious if performance can be affected.


I've gone over the WinALDL website and at some point I'd like to either burn a custom chip or have someone do it for me. I do have a B.S. in E.E.T. but have not been in "the field" for about 12 years or so. I don't have any problem understanding the technical aspects / doing the wiring etc and even learning how to burn the prom with the proper equipment, but I'd like to be up to speed on it.

There is such great info on the site. (Almost too much).

last question:

I understand that several Proms were used in this ECM for various applications such as the 4.3, 5.0 and 5.7. How / where do I find out what other proms were used in this ECM? Perhaps a prom from a "manual car" can be swapped into it to "get rid of" the TCC "issue" etc.

The engine I'm using is a stock L05 so I really don't think I need to do any "custom work" / Custom Prom, I just want to make sure I address some of the items that do not apply to my current car. (Ex No power steering , auto trans / no TCC etc)
