question 870 to 165 ecm pinout
I was going through the pinouts/splicing in the tech article before I do the swap and I got everything down but one wire: on the 870 pinout it shows-
C8 ,4th gear signal, dk green wire, 0v key on, 0v engine running
on the 165 pinout C8 says not used and i don't see it any where on the 165 pinout.
I want to figure everything out before i start taking it apart.

Re: question 870 to 165 ecm pinout
Did you ever got an answer, cause I have the same problem. On the web I found different pinouts : Sometimes ECM870-C7 is unused, sometimes itīs "overdrive-request", sometimes ECM165-C8 is unused, sometimes itīs "A/T-4th-gear or M/T-1rd-gear" . Quite confusing.
How is C7 and C8 swapped from ECM870 to ECM165 ???
Thanks,
Uwe

On the '165 pin C8 is the 4th gear switch for an auto transmission. Controls which set of TCC lock up tables are used. Also for highway SA mode.
