open/closed loop help

Ok, on top of the code 97 that I am seeing discribed in anouther post (pulses per mile fault) now if I plug in my o2 sensors the car runs like crap. I open loop or with the o2 sensors unplugged the car runs great, getting code 97 and both o2 sensor codes as expected. But if I plug in the o2 sensors the car runs like crap wanting to stall around idle, but I get no codes only code 97 like before.

Could this be caused by the 97 code? If so I am seeing a 5 volt reference that the vss should see and I replaced it with no luck. Could it be that I am running a mix of racing leaded fuel and its messing up the o2s? I heard that o2 should last about 50 hours or so on leaded before dying.

I have races to go to this weekend, would there be any effect if I race with only open loop with no o2s and with code 97?

What would happen if I eliminate the o2s all togather? The computer was just redone at pcmforless, could there be somthing wrong in it?
