losing power
losing power
i noticed a week ago when at higher speeds like on the interstate , when i put my foot in it the power wasent there, but at lower speeds it was fine, now its doing this all the time. just cruising around its fine but when i put my foot in it ,theres no power. i put a fuel filter and a cap and rotor in it but it didn't help, it seems like a fuel problem, but i dont know, and the engine light is not comming on,what could be the problem?

Re: losing power
Could be a lot of things. I'd first check the distributor timing (it may be loose and moving). And if the cat is clogged.

Re: losing power
ok i checked the fuel pressure, and when i'm cruising i have 40 psi, when i put my foot in it the pressure drops to 20 psi, the pump does sound like its whining a little louder than normal ,could this be anything other than the pump going out??

Re: losing power
Fuel filter (which you already replaced), turtle (pulsation damper) in tank is leaking, bad wiring to fuel pump, bad fuel pump relay. Odds are it is just the pump on it's last legs. But doesn't hurt to check the wiring.
