want to purchase SCAN tool for diagnostic fine tuning...
I'm about ready to start the fine tuning process on my TPI engine in my 88 IROC. I started looking for a plug in scanner to read codes quicker than using the old paperclip method and suddenly ran into a wide range of OBD1 testers. Sears has one for $65 and they then shoot up to over $300 and then take an even larger leap in cost.
Hey, I'm naive. What do I actually need to get? I've done a lot of little modifications here and there in search of every last ounce of torque & hp throughout the engine, drivetrain, and chassis. I want to be ready for future dyno tuning. Can someone educate me here please? Thanks, Nitro

i picked up a auto xray scanner off of ebay for under $150 and it does OBD I and OBD II, so i can use it to identify codes in any vehicle just about (American OBD I at least and all 96+ Cars)
