Help analyzing data logged...

Hey all -

I have a 92 GTA that hasn't been running right for quite some time. No codes are being thrown, but it sounds like the car isn't running on all 8 cylinders. I unplug all the injectors 1 at a time and I notice no difference when I unplug both cylinder 6 and cylinder 8. Maybe a wiring problem, maybe computer? Anyways, that's why I data logged this bad, bad boy. Can anybody spot anything in this log that looks suspicious? Any other tests you can suggest me to do?

Re: Help analyzing data logged...

Borrow or buy a voltmeter (a cheapo is fine), set it on 20 volts DC and with the engine running watch the voltage on each injector. It won't be a fixed value but the pattern on the meter at idle should be the same on each injector. If its not the same on 6 and 8 you have a wiring problem, keep tracing back with the voltmeter until you find the problem.

If you have good voltage on all injectors, either the injectors are faulty or the fuel supply to them is faulty. Take them out and check that the supply to each injector looks good. If so, you probably have bad or clogged injectors. You can have them cleaned and tested at www.witchhunter.com, not dirt cheap at $17 each, but cheaper than new injectors.

Youre having an issue with 6&8?

What I would do, is since they share a common intake track, see if there is a intake leak in that area for those two cylinders.

Determine if there is spark to those two cylinders.

Go through the basic misfire diagnosis steps before datalogging.
