Need Help!!!!!!

I have a 91 Z28 5.0 Automatic TPI, and I am in need of a ECM. Will any other year models work with my car? I have found some on ebay that state will work on beretta, camaros and firebirds. Will these work? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Re: Need Help!!!!!!

Many other vehicles used the same ECM as your car: the 1227730

Which is also known as these:

16198262
16196344
88999196

(newer Service Number for the same ECM).

However, the MEMCAL (see sticky above) will be different. The MEMCAL holds the calibration for the engine/vehicle. So your MEMCAL will need to be used with the other ECM.

And don't let them sell you an ECM as a 'Camaro TPI' ECM. That'll just let them charge more for it. Besides, most of the time this is done the ECM is from a 6 banger anyway. Here are some vehicles that use it:

86-94 Celebrity, Corsica/Beretta, F-Body
Pont 6000 87-91 6cyl
88 2.0 4cyl
Corsica 87-93 6cyl
Cavalier 88-93 6cyl
Tempest 88-93 6cyl
Firebird Camaro 90-92 6cyl, 90-92 V8
