Re: Testing knock sensor
With the engine running, slap the block. I believe your idle should increase amd also your timing will advance. Someone will correct me if I am wrong. You may also want to try a forum search. There is something in there because I had an issue with mine.
Re: Testing knock sensor
Should show up in a data log as retarded timing when you tap on block with a small ball peen hammer. My logs also show number of KC's seen and in what cells are occuring.

Re: Testing knock sensor
Ok, I am not getting any knock counts.
How can I test to see whether it is the sensor or the ESC module.

Re: Testing knock sensor
It's the sensor... Hooked up my trusty analog gauge to the output and hit the side of the motor with a hammer and nothing.
Did the same to my bro's car, and saw the needle go to zero.
Then swapped modules. Mine works on his as well, but neither works on mine. Looks like im looking for a new knock sensor.
Thanks guys
Edit-
Scratch that, some more testing revealed that I am a meathead and wired the module wrong when I built my harness. I had the power and ground switched. All better now, and I am getting knock retard as I should.
