TBI computer and harness to Multiport using driver box

Using this extrnal driver box. Would it be possbile to run 8 injectors as a batch fire MPFI system from a stock TBI computer?

I don't believe so. That box appears to have 10 drivers for 4/1 Amp peak and hold (PnH) injectors. That would be if you wanted to run more then 2 TBI style injectors (up to 10). Or really low impedance PnH port injectors. There are some 1.2 ohm PnH port injectors. However, the majority are in the 2.2 to 2.4 ohm range.

To go from TBI injector firing rate to MPFI batch the injector firing rate also needs to be changed. TBI fires an injector every plug firing (alternating injectors). While port fires the injectors once per engine revolution (batch file).

I was looking at your website. How hard is it to get a dual TBI to work? Has anyone done that yet? I know that a lot have wanted to, but the last I had read, they couldn't get it to work.

With the 4-injector upgrade the TBI injectors are properly driven. They open as quickly as a single injector on each stock driver. Many engines are being run with an EBL Flash and the 4-injector upgrade.

Are the folks that can't get four injectors to work trying it on a stock ECM? In this case there are issues.

The ones I've read were trying to use a stock computer. I'll have to do a serach for a duel tbi setup. Do you have to use something like a 2.8 v6 injector or something?

For injector sizing it depends upon the engine requirements. It's just a matter of looking at the HP level and sizing the TB's and injectors to supply that fuel. The best way to go (even when running a single 2-bbl TBI) is to run the pressure up over 18 psi and use a VRFPR.

With the higher fuel pressure smaller injectors can be used (easier to obtain). And the varying fuel pressure helps with tuning and driveability. Note that the VRFPR can't be used with a stock ECM.
