TunerProRT will not connect and other issues

Hello-

I thought I would step boldly into the 1990's finally, I downloaded the free version of TunerProRT, and bought a cable from ALDLcable.com.

My wife's '91 RS with the 3.1 has been running really crappy once in closed loop- has zero power above 3500 RPM, speedo does not work and cluster has been tested good and vss swapped, gives codes 35 and 43 occasionally and them sometimes the SES light comes on and the car just bogs down and barely runs.

With all that I felt it was time I did some datalogging, the v6 uses what they call an 8192 baud rate and the cable builder said it would work with the different pin in the ALDL connector for that.

The issues I have are when I boot up TunerPro, I got it to connect but it showed no data. THen I monkeyed around with it and now half the icons on the task bar dissappeared, and it won't connect anymore.

Any adivce for the computer novice here?
