V-6 memcal w/ a 350 Piggy Back?
Maybe a dumb question... I have a memcal from 6 cylinder 92 Camaro. And I am a retro-fitting a TPI into my 70 Monte with a 350. Can I use this memcal with a piggy back type chip calibrated for my engine? Or just need to bite the bullet and get the right one, then get it custom tuned?

The V6 MEMCAL won't work with an 8-cylinder unless modified. In stock form the cylinder select will be incorrect. The wrong injector firing rate and a SES light will result.
Need to change the cylinder select by grounding one of the NETRES pins. I think it is pin 56 on the MEMCAL. But that is from memory, so it may not be the right pin.

Re: V-6 memcal w/ a 350 Piggy Back?
Thanks. I did a bit more research on the mod required. Still not sure I'm into that, and it looks like I should use one from a 4.3 since it has the same bore/stroke. The one I got is from a 3.1. Looks like it would have a lot of problems with the ESC.
Then thought maybe use an Ostrich, but same problem. Need the correct memcal... guess I'll keep searching the junk yards or fork out the $200 + for a custom one to start with, then learn more about tuning and go from there.
