hypertech powerprogrammer

hypertech powerprogrammer

i cant get a straight answer, are the hand held powerprogrammers only good for use one time? if you buy a used one that has been used it wont work on another car?

First, those handheld power programmers are only for newer cars that have flashable computers. Our cars use removeable chips.

And yes when you flash the PCM with the Hypertech program it puts the stock program into the Hypertech's memory so it will not reprogram another car, unless the car has been deprogrammed and the Hypertech tuning put back into the programmer.

I have a 1997 K1500 with a vortec 5.7. I have installed a edelbrock e tec heads and a crane soild lifter cam. I would like to stay with the vortec injection. Will the truck run without reprograming the computer? If not what do I need to buy?

You'll need to ask your question on a truck board. This board and website deal only with 1982-1992 thirdgen f-bodies.
