Engine Stalling. I need some answers!

To get you all up to speed I will explain what configuration I have in my car. Its an '85 TPI 350 with a 749 ECM, 730 wiring harness, 730 CHIP. I have it set up this way to handle boost. I also have a Viper T56 with its 3 wire VSS.

The car runs great but my problem is, sometime when I push the clutch in comming to a stop the engine stalls. My computer tunner guy told me that I have to hook up the VSS wire from the ECM to the VSS on the trans and this problem should go away. Now my question is: Can I hook up a GM ECM VSS wire to a DODGE VSS? From what I have read they are two different styles of sensors and they will not control the speedometer correctly, but nothing about if it would work for the ECMs sake to stop it from stalling. If all it needs is a signal of "MOVING" and "NOT MOVING" I dont see why it wouldnt work. But the last thing I would want to do is hook up two incompatible parts to each other and fry my hard work. Does anybody know?

Regards

the sensor type isn't important, what you need to confirm is whether or not the sensor output is similar. do you know what kind of output that dodge vss puts out?
