Anyone running Gen 7 DFI with Vista or Apple (Mac 0sx) ??

Hi just curious if the Gen 7 will work with vista or osx on an apple? I have a new macbook pro laptop from apple that can dual boot windows xp, and I also have a work laptop with vista ultimate. From what I gather I need to run a real old laptop with a serial port and windows ?

You don't need a real old laptop, that was the Gen 6 stuff. With the Gen 7 stuff, it runs best on Win XP, but I have gotten it to work w/Vista, you just need to elevate the running of it.

Every time I tried on Vista it never worked. I'm going to try installing xp on my mac with dual boot and see if I can get a usb connection from the ecu instead of a serial port since newer laptops dont have that port anymore. I'll post up if it works.

if not I'll be buying a $200 laptop that can do the job.

Do you have the USB connector now rather than the serial? If not, send in your CalMap cable to get upgraded. When you get it back it'll have both serial and USB ends, though all I use now is the USB end. Works much better and more reliably than the serial end. That *might* take care of your problems.
