Which system to use
well I am getting ready to purchase a self programable system. I have been looking at DynamicEFI, primarially due to the fact that it has 8 presets, which will work for my plans, experiments with alternative fuels!! "
I know" I've heard it all before. but reading about the Megasquirt system I am a little confused now. I have my laptop, TPI phsyical parts, engine is not built yet, a 1988 TBI Vert, that I will convert into a TPI. need help please!!! and has anybody had experience with Dynamic? I am an electronics tech, I work on multi milion dollar CNC Machines, I have 29 years experience in the electronics field. I can handle anything electronic ................ once I have learned it. I do understand EFI, installed many into non EFI autos, now I am wanting to take the next step and learn tunning the ECU. thanks in advance, you may have to talk real slow, I am getting old

Re: Which system to use
If you want something to tune - something that is the MOST flexible and has the MOST overall features, you'd be better off going with the Accel system. Why worry about presets when you can have something totally flexible? Why go with Megasquirt that uses inferior technology? Seriously, spend some quality time looking at Accel DFI.

good golly Miss Molly $3k per copy, that will blow my whole years alowance. Re: Which system to use
I'm not sure if it's that much. I think I spent about 2k total on my setup. But, it does give you what you asked for, totally adjustable and editable ECU, and you can learn a bunch by what it does. If you get the chance, attend one of the Accel DFI classes. It'll help a bunch!

Re: Which system to use
The eight calibration banks (presets) on the EBL (Dynamic EFI system) are fully programmable. Can also switch between them on the fly. This makes the system great for E85 users that want to mix & match different amounts of ethanol. That along with allowing different calibrations to be set up for various purposes.
For info and a speadsheet on setting up calibrations for different levels of E85 see this link:

David (SR-71) has set up successive cal banks for higher levels of ethanol. For E20, then E30 and so on. Then just switch to the proper calibration for the best results.
