NEED HELP with comp. for a tpi swap
I have an 89' 305 TBI Trans Am and I am getting ready to swap it over to a TPI setup my current eng. control comp. is O.E.M. #1228746 will i need to change this to a different eng. control comp. if so which one??? a 1227165 possibly???

The easiest way to go is in my sig. You can use a '7165 with the addition of a MAF sensor. A few pin changes, remove the MAP, install a MAF along with the MAF power & burn off relays.
Can also go with a '7730. To do this will need to add another ECM harness connector a do a bunch of re-pinning. The '7730 running $8D will run off the existing MAP sensor.

Wouldn't it be easier to just get a wiring harness and ecm out of an 88' Iroc like the TPI setup came out of in the first place, or is that not possible?
