7730 to EBL?

I have a TPI harness for a 7730 ECU, but I'd like to run EBL flash.
How much repinning would be needed?

It is a bunch. To change from a '7730 harness to an EBL Flash harness, the three connectors get re-pinned down to two connectors. For a stock conversion a 4-out buffer and a knock filter (module) are then added in. They are internal on a '7730 and external on a EBL Flash ECM.

It is easier to start with a TBI harness and change the injector, TPS & IAC connectors.

We can supply the re-pinning guide for the '7730 to EBL Flash conversion. Several users including myself have done this swap.

Thanks RBob,
I'm running TBI now and want to go over to TPI. I like the TBI steup fine but I like to goof around with freak factor stuff!
I have a brand new 7730 harness, ECU and a bunch of Misc. Moates stuff that was given to me by a guy who gave up trying on his car.
I have talked to other folks who kept their TBI harness and just spliced everything in too. I guess if I butcher the TPI harness at least I'll have new connectors to work with....
Any tips on the best teqnique to splice the wires? I'm not much of an electrician but I know what a butt connectors does.......

My tips:
·Use non-insulated crimp splices instead of insulated
·Crimp the connector with a good pair of crimping pliers
·Solder the wires into the crimp sleeve
·Seal with heat shrink tubing.

The only catch here is to make sure that you put the heatshrink tubing on one of the wires first. I have no idea how many of these I've repeated because I forgot the heatshrink tubing.

I just haven't had good luck with the insulated butts connectors.

I second this post for how to splice the wires. For under hood splices, the other thing I do is to smear a little RTV (sensor safe) on the splice before I cover it with the heat shrink. This provides a weather tight splice.

Re: 7730 to EBL?

OK, I'm sold.
Next question...
If I start off with EBL flash and TBI, the move to TPI, I assume I can just move to TPI and retune. When I switch to TPI I want to use batchfire.
Can I use an EBL flash computer with the batchfire mod on a TBI motor?

You shouldn't use a Port Mod EBL with a TBI set up. First reason is that the injector firing rate is incorrect. The second is that the PnH drivers are disabled for the Port Mod.

Note that the Port Mod can be added at any time. And the turn is a day. So if you want to run TBI for a while then just go with the EBL Flash. Then at a later date if you decide to go port just send in the ECM for the Port Mod.

By the time you change everything over from TBI to port the EBL ECM will be back in your hands to plug & play. On top of that, you may find that the TBI runs rather well with the EBL Flash and decide not to go port.
