What can cause no spark please help

ive bought a new coil new cap plugs and wires these other parts have nothing to do with spark i dont think but this is what else ive gotten that my 92 camaro needed idle control valve egr valve battery altenator um im pretty much stumped i cant take the car to get codes for it no money to get it towed so

did you set the distributer up correctly, im pretty sure theres a certain firing order number that you start it at before setting the cap in place, unsure tho. also check to make sure all ur wires and plugs are correctly in place

have you checked for spark at more than one plug? or right off the coil? could be ign module too, you can take that in to a parts store to check, make sure they check it a couple times to see if it fails when its hot.

If your getting a check engine light, search on here how to read them off the adld.

You don't need to take it anywhere. All you need is a paper clip, pad of paper and pen or pencil. If your check engine light is on, your system is trying to tell you something. That's where you should be starting.


If you get a code, you can either search here, or simply do a Google search. As an example I just punched up "GM code 42" and the search brought up several links to note that the ignition module is a concern.
