TPI wiring - Help!!!

I'm working on an engine transplant, and don't know a lot about TPI systems. Here are a couple questions:

A. How do I connect the 4 out buffer?
B. Does this have something to do with the engine or ECU?
(above driver's right foot on '87 Firebird)
C.What is this (located under dash, right hand side on same car)

And then, any help with connecting the connectors in pic D to the ECU (pic D) I guess I don't need all connectors, but if anyone can nudge me in the right direction here...

Thank you!

Re: TPI wiring - Help!!!

B is the ALDL connector and should be wired in.

C looks to be the cruise control module and is not required.

D & E look to be EFI harness to vehicle harness connectors. E more then D. Not really required but you will need to wire some of them into the swap vehicle. They carry items such as ignition switched +12 volts, TCC, ALDL, VSS and so on.

A is the VSS buffer. Converts the magnetic 4-pole sensor to 2K PPM and 4K PPM digital signals. Which are then sent to the ECM, speedometer, and cruise control.

yel & ppl are into the buffer from the VSS.

pnk/blk is +12 v (switched)

blk/wht is ground

brn goes to the ECM (2K PPM)

The others are to the speedometer (4K PPM), and the CC (2K PPM).

Re: TPI wiring - Help!!!

Thank you RBob for this.
D & E are male and female EFI harness to vehicle harness connectors, so they're the same.

After a session in the shop, measuring and testing, I think I know how to connect the ALDL and VSS & the buffer, but where's the M terminal on the ALDL to be connected?

Also, How's this supposed to be connected?

It's the third connector at the junction between the EFI harness and the vehicle harness.
Now, if I get answers to these questions, I'll be close...

I am doing the same kind of swap. How did you get the VSS buffer wired in?

E & M on the ALDL are wired together. They are both for the serial data stream.

Re: TPI wiring - Help!!!

Thank you RBob for that answer!

I've found something about this connector surfing the net, but mine seems to have way too many wires. Any help on this?
