I have an Accel Gen 7 in the car i recently bought. I just figured out it has a HEGO sensor tapped into the left header. How do I go about upgrading to a UEGO wideband sensor? Not sure what all I will need to purchase?

I have the Accel Thruster but I think it sets up the same way. I used an Innovate Motorsports LC-1. You have to go into the LC-1 and set up the output to the voltage range the Gen 7 wants to see, then switch the Gen 7 option over to UEGO. Requires a 12 v supply to the LC-1 controller. Mine works great. LC-1 has two outputs so I also put an A/F readout on my dash. You can usually find good deals on ebay.

 

Do you run just one wideband on either the left or right side header?

 

I replaced the narrow band sensor on the driver's side with the wide band sensor that came with the LC-1.

 

Do you power your sensor with the car's 12V system or need a cleaner power supply?

 

I just used the switched 12 v output from the Accel harness / relay. Very low current to the LC1.

 

I have the thruster system and I bought the accel wide band kit. Its in their catalog.
