Hello all. A quick question regarding the computers. I have a '92 RS with the TBI in it. I am in the process of building an aluminum headed 355 to put in my car that I plan to convert to a TPI setup. I have a complete TPI setup (Intake, wiring harness, and computer) to install but one thing that didn't cross my mind until now is the transmission. My car has the M/T and the TPI system I have came from an A/T. I know I will have to have a custom tune done to make this setup run pristine, but will the tune take care of any issues that may arise with the A/T to M/T issue?
Also, this TPI setup came from an '89 with a 305 too. I realize I will need to install a larger fuel pump and larger injectors. If I read most stuff correctly, the tune will solve any bugs there. My main concern is the trans issue. Any insight is much appreciated!

yes, the ECMs/masks used in the auto and manual TPI motors are the same, so if you start out using a BIN that is already setup for a manual trans, you'll be a lot further ahead than if you tried tweaking an automatic BIN.
it will take quite some tweaking though, especially since the only manual trans TPI cars were iron-head 305s.

Thanks alot for the info. I realize it will take some serious tweaking and tuning, but I really think it will be worth it in the end. Maybe even do some serious

Hopefully it is!

SMOKIN92RS, can use a y-body cal such as APYP. That is for an '89 aluminum headed L98 ('113 heads), with a 6-speed.
