need basic data understanding, not power adding

I have a 93 caprice and I have been logging data and got to reading some other info. I saw somewhere that some cars had to have a 10k resistor. is this the case for me?I get data but idk if 10k warps it or not I had a post before and noticed the car mostly has has high gear enabled on log-idk why.
have used winadl and tuner pro and have only came up with hit and miss odd conditions that never seem to be caught- but hey I have untrained eyes. I havent found anything specific on just reading and and diagnosing tbi problems only making more power, reprograming- unnecessary stuff- not the basics i am looking for. the websites for the programs are vague and just get you where you have to keep asking around and get arrogant hot heads that give smart as answers...i am going to keep reading these posts and hope something good is graspped from it but so far all i see is making power and bs that peeople are putting more money on a tbi power adder that costs more than the car is worth

symptom: light chuggle at idle in park or in gear sitting after being in closed loop a while ie after being on highway or some other steady driving.
not noticed in open loop. car shifts fine. new fluids, new IAC, TPS,EGR valve,Knock Sensor, repaired evap purge circuit, plugs, wires, CTS, ignition module, O2 sensor.

these things together did eliminate the knock counts, wasted fuel, and hesitation that was associated with the feeling but now just that lil jerk is annoying me though it is not horribly noticeable.
I am about to pick up a cap and rotor-bwd right now is 3 years old- in about an hour and see what happens from there
