why am I getting a MAP reference with my MAF TPI system?
I've been troubleshooting bugs with my 88 GTA. I want to get it tuned and running well (mechanically) and finish the break in before I swap to the 0411 which is ready to go. I still have a slight detonation problem under load, sometimes more than others; I've corrected the problem alot but not yet completely fixed it. When I run my scan tool on it, it gives me a MAP sensor reference, which varies between 2.7 and 2.9 volts, regardless of RPM or load. This is a 1988 car with CSI delete. Curious why this is and if this is anything I need to be concerned about?

I see this post is a little old but just wanted to try and help.
I have an 87 gta and mine has the same reading,I believe that that setting is a reference for the ecm that maybe calculated off of the tps % when MAF isn't working or car is in limp mode? Not 100% sure of when the ecm would use it.
