question about a chip

Hi, had a question hope someone can help me with. I have a 91z28 originally with the 305 TPI engine. When i purchased the car the owner put in a 350 long block using all the components from the 305 TPI. Did change to aftermarket injectors. Still has the stock 305 chip. So could it just get a aftermarket chip for a 350 and will it be compatible in the ECM for a 305. Thanks

Re: question about a chip

I would change the tune. There are a couple way Hypertech for a 90-92 tpi l98, have your memcal reburned or have someone burn you a aujp on a piggyback board like hypertech uses. Let me know if you need any help with that.

Re: question about a chip

Check with the guy that runs tbichips.com

He burns custom chips for our cars and corvettes for anywhere from $75 and up. I had him burn me one for my bigger injectors and he'll also adjust your shift points, fuel curve, and spark curve.

He'll need to know some info about your engine and trans setup as well.

That could be. I just remember the guy asked what kind of tranny I had and I did notice a difference in the shifting after I installed it. Seems to downshift a little sooner than it had before.
