85 Corvette L98 into 91 Camaro
My 91 Camaro Z28 had the 305 TPI engine with 5 spd manual. It overheated severely and blew. I obtained a low milage (30,000) 1985 corvette L98 engine.
Do I need to change the computer to the 350 L98 1991 computer?
Also Can I use the 305 distributor on the corvette 350 engine?
thanks;
rick

Rick, you will need to get a new flywheel for the swap and run the 22#hr injectors from the 350 and the intake manifold. You can use 85 hei distributor just change the wire ends flat 4 delphi connector for the reference bypass est and grnd. you will also need too change the coil power and tach to female spade. I would also use the 91 fuel rail and runners and plenum. Use the stock 730 ecm and memcal moates.net g1 adapter with a aujp broad cast code or arfp, axcn should work good but may have a little more timing sine these l98 were running the 113 heads.

Thanks for the info. I asked about the 305 distributor because the 85 engine did not come with a distributor.
Thanks again

If its truly a 85 vet motor, it has iron heads until the 86 verts which got aluminum, then all 87 and up had aluminum heads (i think). also no roller cam on the 85.. In all honesty your prolly going to give up a tad of power compared to the 91 305.
If its just a driver you may or may not care a bunch.. just giving a heads up.
you can use the complete long block from the vet with a new flex plate.
I would use the heads and up from your 305 on on the 350. This will keep your topend looking stock...
