87 TPI need advice

87 TPI need advice

I did a 305 to 350 swap on my camaro. My ecm is original to the 305 now using a 350 hypertech chip. I removed the cat and smog system and am about to removed the egr but heard i need to do a proper delete on the ecm. Im not very good with how this computer system so i need help on what to do

If this is on your '87 car, then relocate the MAT sensor to the air cleaner (make it an IAT). That will disable the EGR system. This occurs because the EGR enable temperature is based on the MAT sensor value.

Making the reading lower by relocating the MAT will prevent the EGR from turning on.

Personally, a stock GM calibration would be better then the hypertech chip.

I was going to buy a 5.7 ECM and then order a prom fro
Tpichips . I tried a stock 87 350 chip in my ecm and the car wouldnt even start.

both ecms are the same,its just the prom that is different between 305 and a 350.

Two items come to mind: are the injectors the proper 22 #/hr for a 350? And, did the ECM give the 'blink' at key-on, engine-off with the 350 PROM?

The injectors are bosch 22lbs, im not sure what you mean by the "blink" im pretty simple when it comes to this car.

The blink verifies that the ECM is running from the PROM. There can still be issues with the ECM, but at least it is running. It is:

At key-on, engine-off, observe the SES/CEL light. It should turn on briefly, blink off, then turn on solid. It is the blink off that is important.

Can repeat the test after a minimum of 10 seconds of key-off.
