Swapping ECM's 165 to 773
Swapping ECM's 165 to 773
Im about to drop a '90 350/TPI into my '89 305/TPI.
I bought the 350 engine with the TPI and the 730 ECM without the harness.
My 305 is a currently running 89 TPI.
The 165 ECM has 2 connector ports, the 730 has 3.
Do I have to buy a harness?
Can I repin the existing wires? Are there any adaptors out there that I can plug my two existing connectors into and have 3 to plug into the ECM?
Hope this makes sense.
Im sure someone had installed a '90 or later MAP ECM using a 89 and earlier MAF harness.
Any input appreciated

Mike has a write up on doing this here:

Will need to either re-pin or swap the harness. No adapters that I know of.

With some re pinning you could run $12p and get rid of the maf. It would be a lot less work. http://delcohacking.net/forums/viewtopic.php?f=27&t=356

I'd sell the '730 and get an NVSRAM board for your '165 ECM, and run 12P. Lots of support, realtime tuning with 1 cable. Not as popular here, but no reason you can't post on delcohacking.net for help.
