Whats special about the 1995 computers?
I just got a 1995 Chevy Tahoe with a 5.7/4l60e 4x4. Im told that there is something different about its computer vs. the old 7747 style units but that they share the same case. Is that true? What is different about them? IS it a good thing? Are they not tuneable? Out of the box, are they better than a 7747? I tried searching, but have yet to even find out what number the 95 ecm is! Perhaps if someone could even just let me know the ecm number, i could get started with some meaningful searching.

I am not very good tuning the older series of that ECM. I used to do the 7165, 7130, and the 7149 ECM's.. I have steered away from them and gone to DFI. I am wondering if your manufacturing date of your vehicle is late enough to be considered an ODB II system even though it is a 95. I think the 4l60e is controlled by the ECM, but I might be incorrect and it might have a secondary module. On ODB I systems, I am positive that the 700r4 use the older ECM to control the Torque Convertor lockup which might explain what the difference is..
