Hey what's up third gen. Quick question, I just bought a 1989 rs 5.7 tbi swap out of a suburban. I've replaced the iac, tps, iat, cts and the o2' also did plugs and wires. New 5.7 injectors and all new vacuum lines. Question is, why does it run so rich?? It still have the 305 engine harness as well as the ecm. What all needs to be done for this engine to run better. Oh it also stumbles at a stop, almost like a carburetor loading up. So what should I do? Thank you
ALSO, WHERE IS THE LOCATION OF THE PROM. I TRIED A SCAN TOOL AND THE TOOL COULDN'T READ THE CODES. NOW I HAVE BEEN TOLD TO GET A CHIP FROM A CAPRICE. ANY SPECIFIC CAPRICES I SHOULD LOOK FOR..LIKE WHAT YEAR ECT. IS THERE GOING TO BE NUMBERS ON THE COMPUTER AND OR THE CHIP SO I CAN IDENTIFY THE RIGHT ONE. I DON'T KNOW TO MUCH ABOUT THE NEWER STUFF SO ANY HELP WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED.

 

I would put a scan tool on it and make sure that the sensors are reporting correctly.

i have the same setup follow RBOBs link to dynamicefi and purchase the EBL_flash as far and bang for your buck this is a KABOOM for your buck. follow the link and read read read dont skips words or lines just read and do some research. i did a few days of nonstop research it made my head hurt and the lady friend was not so happy but oh well. i compared this to the APU1 setup from another very reputable and great company but the simple and convenience of the ebl surpases everything else. if you have questions ask. ill be happy to try to answer as someone did for me(TUNEDPERFORMACE) im a noob to this EFI thing it hurts my head. but check it out it worth it.
