MS vs Carb
MS vs Carb
The more I research the more I can't make up my mind. I have an 87 305 LT Camaro project car. My minimum power goal is 440whp and 500 max. I'm fairly sure I could do that N/A with a 383 build but I'd rather do a single turbo setup and less cubic inches. Since mine is carb'd, the blow through would be easiest to convert to. BUT most everyone says don't do it, for good reason I assume?! It seems like the price will end up about the same either way.
The problem with fuel injection is it's a major hassle to convert a carb to TPI. You have to swap fuel tanks, fuel pump, and find a donor car that has the wire harness with an intake, TB, injectors etc. So here are my questions:
1) If I go EFI, can I use an inline electric fuel pump, or do you have to replace the gas tank/pump?
2) If I use MegaSquirt, do I still need to rewire the engine harness or can MS be implemented w/out converting the top end to a TPI first?
I don't have as much time as I'd like with 2 jobs so I want the path of least resistance! All suggestions are appreciated!

Re: MS vs Carb
Inline fuel pumps can work well.
The MS will have it`s own harness that can be connected to the engine to suit each circuit.
No it does not need to be a TPI intake, it can be any number of intakes, but MPFI type (at least one injector per cylinder) is usually recommended in a forced induction set-up like you want to build.
