If its the 1226870 ecm would be a wise idea to upgrade to the 1227165 ecm.
Signs of a bad ecm are erratic running when you hit large bumps or pot holes, low serial data live voltage or lack of communication with the ecm via the mil or aldl.

i went through problems with erratic idle and stalling with my car, replaced damned near everything, the one clue that tipped me off about the ECM being bad was that when trying to pull codes by jumping a/b on ALDL the SES light would flash 12.....12......1.........3...........2, it would be giving codes but fading in and out so bad you had no idea what it was trying to tell you, after replacing my ECM my erratic idle/stalling problem dissapeared and i could pull codes fine
