Did I buy the right ecm?
My car is a 1989 Trans Am GTA t5 with a custom vats delete chip, I thought my ecm might be fried because it appeared to be in limp home mode, it would start but was really bogged down and the secondary fan was constantly running. I decided to get a new ecm (this one)

and tried it out and it didn't start, only cranked, which is what it did before the vats delete chip. Is this the correct ecm for this year and transmission? I thought also maybe it could be a faulty prom/chip so I'm looking to buy a new one, is this the correct one I should buy?

if it is then I'll just buy that and get another custom chip with vats delete made for it

EM7165 computer is correct.
Secondary fan is on either by A/C pressure switch, the relay, or most likely - the fan switch in the passenger side head is stuck on.
The chip you have listed is wrong, your engine code is "F", not "E".

Thanks for the reply, I've read about the fan switch problem and tried to look into it but I can't locate it for the life of me

Fan switch is located very close to the dipstick tube, right inbetween spark plug #6 & #8. Single wire going to it. Of course it can only be accessed from underneath.

I didn't realize you have to take the exhaust manifolds off to see it
I looked on autozone for their proms and saw this one, is this one correct? http://www.autozone.com/autozone/par...3759_481636_0_
