7730 question
I have a 82 camaro with 406 and powerglide. Car is current a track car. I am putting it on the street. Swapping the glide for a T-56. I am Fuel injecting the 406. I just bought a TPIS mini ram and 58mm throttle body. My 82 is currently carb'd and all the stock ECM and wiring has been removed. I am going to buy a painless wiring harness. What ECM do I need to fuel inject with the mini ram? Have been told to use speed density. I am looking to buy everything ASAP.

Re: 7730 question
I think we've discussed some of this... The choice between MAF and SD is like a religious war. If you go MAF get the set up that was used from '86 through '89 (skip the '85 set up). With a 406 the MAF will max out quickly, leaving PE mode fuel needing to be used to adjust the WOT AFR.
A SD set up doesn't have this type of limitation. The '7730 being used from '90 - '92 on the 3rd gens. If you go this way try to find a TPI or even a 3.1l V6 '90-'92 in the JY. Get the ECM mount from that car as it is a slide mount.
There should be a few of the 3.1l V6 cars in there. Can also get the MAP sensor and bracket from one. It is high on the firewall, passenger side.
The '82 would have the VSS mounted to the back of the cluster. I'm not sure what you are planning in this area as most (all?) T56's have a 40-tooth wheel for the VSS. No cable for the speedometer.
An SGI-5 box can be used to buffer this VSS and send the signal to the ECM, and maybe the cruise control.
If you are dropping the tank to do a fuel pump install, get a newer tank. They are baffled so that fuel slosh doesn't uncover the pickup.
RBob.

Re: 7730 question
Thanks Bob. We have actually been emailing back and fourth today and i have decided to go with your EBL-P4 Flash including the 7730 ready to go. Could you send one that is speed density?
