ecm problem, 32 and 32b files

Hello,

I have a 86 trans am with a 350tpi. I have a 1227165 ecm

I use 87 /88 files, with a 32b xdf file, usually it works great....

Today problem, it doesn't work anymore, my engine is difficult to start, once started, it goes from 300 rpm to 1000rpm several times, runs very lean and then stops. my innovate wideband reads 22.4 AFR...

I tried to burn several files of 87 88 which are 32b, nothing works... I don't understand, those files work usually !!

The only way to run the car is to use a 86 file, 32.xdf...

Maybe you have an idea ?

thanks for your help

Marc

You may not be getting a good burn on the EPROM. Do this each time you go to start the engine:

Do a key-on, engine-off and observe the SES/CEL light. It should turn on briefly, blink off, then turn on solid. Can repeat the test after 10 seconds of key-off.

If the SES/CEL doesn't do the blink off, then the ECM isn't running from the EPROM, it is most likely in limp mode.
