Will this ECM work in my Camaro?

I have a 1989 RS, 2.8 litre V6. Struggling to come up with info on ECMs. Are they all the same etc.. I've found this on ebay, was wondering if it will work on my car? It says they are for TPI cars, is mine one of those? Or is MPFI different? Just wondering if I will be able to use this ECM on my car! Thank you!

Re: Will this ECM work in my Camaro?

The link is to a re-programming service, not an ECM. The 2.8l MPFI ECM uses a separate PROM, not a MEMCAL, so it won't work.

The ECM in your '89 is the same from '86 through '89, it is the 1227302 ECM. It is only used in the 2.8l MPFI cars. The TBI and TPI cars used a different ECM.

RBob.

RBob is correct. I have the ECM you need out of my 89 2.8 if you are looking for one. Nothing wrong with it, converted to a Megasquirt ecm when I went turbo.
