TPS voltage

My 89 Formula has a difference in voltage at the TPS and in what the computer sees. When a VOM is connected directly to the TPS I will see 4.5v at WOT but when reading it with my AutoXray thru the ALDL I only see 3.7v. Any ideas?

You may have a voltage drop through the wires and connectors between the sensor and the ECM.
Find the corect wire where it enters the ECM (at the ECM wire harness plug) and check the voltage there.

It also may be an improperly calibrated meter you are using. Try another meter and compare.

Also might be a varrience with the ECM, PROM or maybe even the scanner.
