Turbo City cross-fire computer upgrade?
Well, my car has been acting up for some time and I have eliminated so many things that I think I'm going to take a chance on a new ECM. Has anyone tried the Turbo City 970-200 cross-fire computer upgrade? I have an '83 Z. Does anyone know where to get the same thing for cheaper? I'll take whatever help I can get. thanks,
Tim

You'll have to change harness ends to plug it in.
It would be best to get a set of injectors from a 87-90 350 GM PU and then use the stock 747 proms to get going.
The 747 is totally hac'd,
A visit to www.tunercat.com and reading up on the mask code 42 would be a good start for you.
Yes, it is a 7747 from a GM truck. I have one installed in my 83 T/A with a 350, and 350 CFI injectors from an 84 'Vette. I know I have the wrong PROM in mine. I have been told the the AKWU code is for a 305 by someone on this board. The car runs okay, but could be much better. I am thinking that if I get a 350 PROM that this might solve some of my fuel delivery problems....
Grumpy?
Sorry, I forgot to mention that I got the 7747 from a buddy of mine, and NOT TC. $500 for that crap is totally unreasonable.

The TBs from the 305 CFI setup are smaller than the Vette, ariflow wise. Not clear if you just swapped over the injectors or the entire 350 TB setup but if you only swapped over the injector units themselves it still won't run quite right (maybe a little better?). I've been down the CFI road a few times and this is always where it gets confusing.
It might be easier and more cost effective to simply play with your fuel pressure for starters. A custom chip would be the real way to go, but I have no idea where you would get one for CFI, unless you burned on yourself as suggested.

A search of the DIY_EFI and getting a copy of the tuning tips from incoming will get you up and going, and in the archives is all the mods I did to get it running that fast.
