Mismatched ECU and PROM

I got a 305 bored .040 with an aftermarket cam. Was orginally out of an F-Body. It has no AIR injection, No A/C, and EGR blocked off. I don't have a functioning SES light either as the remote light never comes on.

Its currently in an 83 Blazer that was orginally a carbed 4cyl. Got heads at the machine shop currently, but when it was together it ran really crappy. I also didnt do the swap so I'm just going thru everything and just trying to get it to function properly at this point.

Anyway, the ECU that was installed is a 1227747 with a ACSU chip. My search showed that its out of a 350 L05, can someone confirm? Also, not sure what injectors were on it, but has new 305 injectors now. I can bump up pressure to accomodate the mods but need a fresh pump installed while heads are off. It doesnt build over 12psi with return line pinched. TPI pump a good/sufficient upgrade?

Also with this ECU would it be better to go with a Moates chip burner or an EBL ecu? I would rather not have to get a new harness if at all possible.

Many thanks!

That is correct. An '87 - '88 MY with a 700R4 transmission.

Lately the TPI Bosch brand pump is decent.

The EBL ECM is pin & plug compatible with your stock '7747 harness. Comparing a chip burner with the EBL is apples and oranges. One burns chips for tuning using the stock ECM & firmware. Plus the separate need for data logging.

An EBL system is integrated with Flash memory for the calibration/firmware, What's Up Display, documentation and so on.

But when I went to the dynamic efi website, the ecm that was shown had different connections than my ecu. Even though these are different, I can desolder the existing daughterboard and resolder in the EBL one? Also, could I get by with a NB O2 sensor or is a WB absolutely necessary?

There are three different systems offered. The EBL Flash is the one that matches your '7747 ECM. There is no longer an EBL Flash self-install. You can either send your ECM in to have it converted or purchase a complete EBL Flash system with the ECM included.

It is recommended that the stock NB O2 sensor be retained. Then use a WB setup as an "add on" (if desired).

Ok, thanks for setting me straight. I did see that section on the compatible ecu's. And thanks for the heads up on not doing the self-install. Thats fine if I have to send it out, waiting on heads to get done anyway.

And its not much more if any that trying to put a carb on it, which was plan B. And this will allow me to grow with my mods and swap over when I stuff 350 in eventually.

I'll be sure to read up on the tuning software. I've dabbled in it slightly with an old Megaquirt build with TunerStudio.
