Im curious if anyone else has run into this problem with the bbk throttle body. The other day I was tinkering with my car and decided I would smoke test my intake manifold to make sure I didnt have any vacuum leaks. Low and behold I found a pretty decent leak coming from the throttle plate bushings on both sides. Now, if my car was running on a map sensor i wouldnt be too concerned about it considering the map can self adjust for this. However, I am currently still using a maf sensor and now I wondering how much affect this could have on that. The throttle body itself is about 15yrs old but only has about 25,000 miles on it. So my next question would be before i spend 200-300 on a replacement throttle body, is the replacement throttle body going to do the same thing.

I would just get a new one. Bbk isnr know for quality. They are hit or miss. Some guys never have issues but others do. Tpis or az speed and marine. Holley is ok too. Stay away from the summit brand ones.

If your town has a bearing supplier you can try there for bushings. Of course towns have to be a certain size before they have a bearing place.

when I had worn throttle body bushings in my maf TPI car it ran like a dog. I heard bad things about the BBK throttle bodies so I bought a professional products throttle body and it was a huge difference.
