Intake manifold gasket differences?

Im working on a leaky rear china wall on my car, and while im at it im doing the intake gaskets and valve cover gaskets etc. Here is my delema. I ordered the felpro set that came with intake gaskets and all the gaskets for the tpi. The intake gaskets I took off the car had the rear coolant passages blocked off and the new gaskets do not. In addition, the rear tpi intake manifold has blocked off water ports. Which ones are the correct gaskets?

It honestly doesn't look like it will make a difference. If the intake does not have a water port in it in the rear, will it make a difference if the gasket is blocked off or not. either way there will be no coolant flow through the back of the intake.

I only want to do this once, and dont want to put the wrong gaskets on. I spent so much time getting the gasket surfaces "surgical" clean and cleaned every single bolt hole, all bolt threads etc, I do not want to do this intake ever again.

I do think the gaskets were changed at one time between brand new and since i got it. There was rtv on the china walls, NOT MUCH AT ALL THOUGH thats why shes a leakin!

here are some pics for reference!

Re: Intake manifold gasket differences?

I put the same felpro set on my car with no problems at all, It just seals the rear. It didn't matter that it was open or not, because the water port on the intake is blocked off anyway. I put a very thin coat of rtv around all the openings on the gasket also to help hold and seal the gasket. Don't forget to put a good size bead of rtv on the china walls as well. Now the fun part is dropping the intake on without moving anything. Watch some Youtube videos on building a chevy 350 its the same process.

Thanks.

I installed it yesterday with the gaskets. had a slight problem with the ps front gasket falling down slightly. got it back into shape by sticking a screwdriver in and lifting it up to get the holes to match. I cant remember for sure but i dont think i lifted the intake off the rtv so I should be good!
